Horrifying stories of giant man-eatig snakes are comon, but do such super serpentes really exist? The short answer is that there are very few records of snakes measuring much more than 9m, and even then researchers disagree about the exact lengths. Some sizeable snakes, such as pythons and anacondas, are dangerous to people because of their enormity, but they do not usually attack humans. Really big snakes are not so common today because of habitat destruction and hunting.
